An Australian man, who was extradited to the U.S. last year to face criminal charges, pleaded guilty in a Manhattan court to serving as the primary moderator for Silk Road's discussion forums.

On Friday, the FBI announced that Peter Phillip Nash, 41, pleaded guilty to one count of narcotics conspiracy and one count of money laundering conspiracy which, respectively, carry a maximum sentence of life in prison and a 20-year maximum sentence. Prosecutors said that Nash served as the primary Silk Road forum moderator from January 2013 to October 2, 2013, and was paid a salary by Ross Ulbricht, the operator of the underground marketplace.

In early February, Ulbricht was found guilty on all charges for his involvement and creation of Silk Road. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15, while Nash is set to be sentenced on May 26.
