A British teenager has admitted to instigating cyber attacks on SeaWorld in Florida, but has denied launching bomb threats to airlines in the U.S. via Twitter, according to BBC News.
The accused – a 16-year-old from Plymouth – confessed he was behind attacks which led to denial of service (DoS) on the popular theme park, as well as attacks within the U.K. on police in Devon and Cornwall. He faces three charges of performing an act to hinder access to a program or data held in a computer.
However, he has refuted charges that he made threats to take down airlines on Twitter, despite reports that tweets were sent to American Airlines and Delta Air Lines on Feb. 13, 2005 that investigators determined originated from his Twitter account. The Zephyr Regional Cyber Crime Unit – an alliance of five police units in southwest England – seized the teen's computer.
