Awingu purchase to bolster Corel’s zero trust push

Secure remote access technology provider Awingu has been acquired by Corel in a bid to bolster zero trust security, VentureBeat reports. Corel will be including Awingu in the Parallels Remote Application Server tech stack aimed at addressing security challenges in on-premise assets, legacy apps, hybrid clouds, and software-as-a-service apps. Numerous organizations have long used the Parallels RAS platform and the addition of Awingu would enable the easy and efficient zero trust security integration in their technology stacks. Enterprises could also leverage Awingu's secure remote access platform as a VPN substitute. "The future of work is now; we are living it. The pandemic further accelerated the need for organizations to determine and shift their remote and hybrid work infrastructures. Now, organizations are figuring out how they can cater to the flexibility that employees want with their workplaces while also ensuring secure and efficient access," said Corel Chief Technology and Product Officer Prashant Ketkar.
