Facebook ups privacy measures, tests new user settings

On Tuesday, Facebook revealed changes to website privacy settings, which it plans to test out on users.

According to Mashable, the social networking service will alter the drop-down menu that shows users whether their online posts are shared with the “public” or just “friends.”Now, the setting will better specify what sharing information with those groups means for users' privacy.

Other testing efforts at Facebook, include pop-up alerts, called “privacy checkups,” which will remind users of settings they've opted for as they share on the site. Additionally, Facebook has moved information notifying users of their privacy settings to a section of the site that is more visible.
