Seoul police arrest student for hacking 104 websites

A college student has been arrested by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency for allegedly hacking 104 websites in 24 countries.

The 20-year-old student, identified by only his surname, Jang, gathered 280,000 pieces of information in a hacking spree that stretched from November 2013 to August 2014. According to report in the Korean JoongAng Daily, Jang apparently hacked the sites to demonstrate his technical abilities. Among the sites were shopping malls, hospitals and universities. 

Jang also gathered account data from Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites and either stored it in the cloud or revealed it in his blog, along with posting detailed accounts of his hacking activities on YouTube and in online forums that hackers use to share information and provide tutorials.

Jang is accused of spreading 13,000 pieces of information over the internet.
