New NativeEdge by Dell secures, simplifies edge deployments

Dell Technologies announced the upcoming launch of its NativeEdge platform, which aims to reduce the complexities of deploying edge devices while also safeguarding them through a zero-trust architecture, SDxCentral reports. The new offering, which is geared toward remote-focused enterprises, lets users customize their software, IoT, operational technology, and multi-cloud tools as they manage their edge infrastructure. In terms of software, Dell provides a catalog of managed services that are able to provide a consistent management layer, whether the devices or locations are spread across multiple locations or cell towers, alongside the ability to support multi-cloud or cloud-native technologies. The services operate on either Dell equipment or other validated hardware, which the company drop-ships to the end-user with a digital signature certifying ownership and the ability to automatically be onboarded and provisioned upon activation. The NativeEdge platform enables secure device onboarding at scale, the ability to remotely manage those devices in their locations, and orchestration of multi-cloud applications for data centers, edge devices, and matching cloud properties to make sure that the edge outcome end-to-end is deployed in lifecycle, according to Gil Shneorson, Dells senior vice president for edge computing.
