When did you first hear about the SC Awards and what prompted you to be a part of the big event?
As a leader in the network security and performance monitoring market since 2000, the SC Awards have been on Lancope‘s radar for many years. It is one of the top awards opportunities that we are sure to submit for each year, with the potential to bring great exposure to Lancope among our key audiences. Over the years, we have been both a finalist and winner in the U.S. and Europe awards programs.
What’s a key benefit for entering your company in the SC Awards?
SC Magazine has a great readership among IT security professionals. Its award program enables us to gain valuable awareness for our powerful StealthWatch monitoring solution with readers who may not yet be familiar with our offerings, as well as reaffirm our leadership position in enterprise network security. The submission process also affords us the opportunity to define how our StealthWatch System differs from other solutions on the market, using the sophisticated behavioral analysis of NetFlow and other flow data to provide cost-effective, end-to-end network visibility and threat intelligence. (NetFlow has long been perceived as a network accounting and performance tool, but Lancope has been innovating NetFlow analysis in a security context to address emerging threats such as APTs, hacktivism and botnets especially in light of IT trends such as BYOD and cloud computing.)
To what other prominent awards ceremony outside of the security industry would you compare the SC Awards?
The SC Magazine U.S. and Europe awards are really the only ones of this kind that Lancope submits for each year. Other accolades we receive mostly come from industry analysts such as Gartner, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) and Frost & Sullivan, or local organizations such as the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).
How do you think winning an SC Award would impact the perceptions of your customers toward your products and services?
With hundreds of government and Global 2000 customers around the world, and a 95% renewal rate, our customer base is strong and has a great perception of Lancope and StealthWatch. Lancope is also a strategic technology partner of Cisco Systems, which further adds to the strength and credibility of our offerings. However, winning awards such as the SC Awards reaffirms our leadership in the market and our commitment to continuously delivering high-quality security products to meet our customers’ emerging needs. As online threats continue to evolve, organizations need to be confident that they are investing in products (like StealthWatch) that are built for the challenge of combating advanced attacks such as APTs and insider threats.
With readers and industry leaders judging the various SC Awards, how do you intend to tout a finalist spot or win?
We definitely plan to tout a finalist spot or win via our web site and social media channels, as well as with a press release should we win. We would also be sure to include the accolade(s) in various collateral pieces and other communication vehicles moving forward, as well as in sales presentations and discussions as appropriate. Lancope has a very strong marketing organization, and we are always eager to share our successes and the strength of our StealthWatch products with key audiences including customers, prospects, partners and industry analysts. As a strategic technology partner of Cisco Systems, news of the award will likely reach key Cisco security audiences as well.
