Two-day SC Magazine PCI econference continues today

Join us Tuesday and Wednesday for our special, free two-day SC eConference and Expo: Complying with PCI.

Most organizations are no strangers to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), and compliance rates steadily are improving, according to Visa figures.

However, confusion among affected companies on how to best comply with the standard still abounds, as does the desire to reduce scope of the PCI audit. Plus, the PCI DSS has come under fire in recent months, particularly following the breach of Heartland Payment Systems, which claimed it had passed a PCI assessment just days before it was breached.

This special two-day event strives to shed light on the steps organizations can take when trying to meet PCI DSS rules, providing some pointers on how to comply with the standards and which security practices and solutions can ease the process of doing so.

The eConference will feature keynotes from all sides of the PCI discussion. You will hear from Deven Bhatt, CISO of Wright Express, a payment processor for the fleet industry; Bruce Rutherford, a chairman on the PCI Security Standards Council, which manages the guidelines; and Ward Spangenberg, director of security operations at social game startup Zynga.

In addition, the free event, which runs from 1 to 5:30 p.m. EST both days, will feature a number of other informative webinars led by vendors with PCI expertise.
