Legion hacking group attacking high profile Indian officials

The hacking group responsible for hijacking the Twitter accounts of several high profile Indian officials is now claiming to have access to 40 thousand plus servers, including those of India's biggest private hospital chain, Apollo.

The group goes by the name “Legion” and in the past few weeks, has already hacked the Twitter accounts of the nation's Congress Party, its Vice President Rahul Gandhi, businessman Vijay Mallya, and journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar, to dox private information of the public figures as well as to write defamatory remarks on their pages, according to the Washington Post.

The group is already in possession of "several terabytes of raw data concerning all sorts of 'interests'" and Legion's next target will reportedly be a businessman Lalit Modi who is an outspoken supporter of the party currently in power, a group member told the publication.

Although it is unclear what the motives behind the attacks are, a group member told Mashable India the groups is just trying to "connect dots."
