Syrian Electronic Army hacks Viber App Store account listing

Hackers with the Syrian Electronic Army continue to attack messaging and VoIP mobile app provider Viber.

Apple iOS users who checked out the Israeli start-up's Apple App Store page this weekend may have noticed an updated description reading: “We created this app to spy on you, PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT!”

The page has been fixed.

The pro-Assad SEA has had its electronic eye staring down hard on Viber of late. The Cyprus-based mobile messaging app company with development centers in Israel and Belarus is accused by the hacker group of spying on and tracking its more than 200 million users.

Viber has denied this is true.
