Jon Washburn brings more than 30 years of information technology, security, and governance experience—nearly 20 years of which have been in the legal industry—to his role as Chief Information Security Officer, leading the firm’s information security and business intake teams and the firm’s administrative governance and compliance functions. As a resource for Stoel’s Privacy & Data Security practice, Jon assists the team with breach response, performing risk assessments, identifying information governance policy and process improvements, and evaluating information systems architecture, operational resilience, and security strategies.

Jon also spends considerable time volunteering with the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), the Legal Services Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (LS-ISAO), and the Global Resilience Federation (GRF), where he collaborates with other leaders to transform the cybersecurity capabilities and culture of the legal industry.
