CryptoCoinsNews offers bounty for perpetrator of DDoS attack

CryptoCoinsNews (CCN) and its sister-site Hacked are offering a 5 Bitcoin bounty for information on the extortionist that targeted both sites in a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack Monday morning.

Those looking to collect should provide information, including the extortionist's ID(s), location (address), similar attacks on other sites or companies, and other relevant information, according to a CCN report

CCN provided the IP address, email address, and additional information it was able to recover from the attackers email.

The cybercriminal sent an email to the firm demanding they pay 2 Bitcoin or else they would increase the strength of the attacks and increase the ransom to 3 Bitcoin, the report said. The attackers also threatened to mail the sites' advertisers to inform them the sites are down.

Both sites were back online a few hours after the attacks and have reported using DDoS protection.
