New 1Password service seeks to advance passkey implementation

Password management provider 1Password has introduced the new Passage by 1Password service, which seeks to facilitate passkey authentication integration in apps and websites without the need for a dedicated security infrastructure as part of efforts to accelerate passkey adoption, TechCrunch reports. Included in Passage by 1Password's offerings are Passkey Complete, which enables passkey user experience creation across different operating systems, and Passkey Flex, which allows passkey implementation while offering training to integrate such systems with their current identity management solutions. "Passage by 1Password enables developers across a range of businesses to integrate passkey login experiences into their projects with just a few lines of code We're rolling out now and have seen strong initial interest in our solutions with thousands of developers signing up to try it in its early stages," said 1Password CEO Jeff Shiner. Such a solution has been announced after 1Password disclosed passkey management in 1Password accounts beginning June 6, as well as plans that would enable passkey replacements for master passwords.
