Zuckerberg faces legal action over Cambridge Analytica breach

TechCrunch reports that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been sued by the District of Columbia for his direct involvement in the breach of Facebook data by data analysis firm Cambridge Analytica. Several breaches of the Consumer Protection Procedures Act have been committed during the incident, according to the lawsuit, which is looking to blame Zuckerberg for failing to ensure that Facebook users had their data protected from the "sketchy" techniques leveraged by Cambridge Analytica. The lawsuit also alleges that Facebook users have been misled by the platform regarding the non-sale of their personal information to other platforms."
