Gov’t officials search for new contractor to manage Healthcare.gov

The Obama administration has taken note of the harsh criticism aimed at healthcare.gov's problematic rollout and security, and now a search has begun for a new contractor to manage it.

Efforts to find the new vendor have already been started by federal officials, according to an administration official that confirmed the news to The Hill. The move was originally reported by The New York Times.

Officials are reportedly considering small businesses owned by women, disabled veterans, and disadvantaged minorities to fill the role. The move may be a result of the administration's dislike of the website's management by larger contracted vendors, according to The Times.

Soon after its launch, more than a dozen cyber attacks aimed at the site were reported to the Department of Homeland Security.
