Several financial institutions are reporting payment card fraud activity on cards used at Dairy Queen, Brian Krebs reported on Tuesday, explaining cards were reportedly used at locations in Florida, Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas.

One credit union reported more than 50 cases of fraud within days, many involving copies of cards being used at dollar and grocery stores, Krebs wrote, adding some locations may have been compromised in June.

Two different financial institutions told Krebs that cards recently purchased in an online dump shop were all used at Dairy Queen locations, and Krebs wrote that thousands of cards were for sale.

A Dairy Queen spokesperson told Krebs that there have been no reports of fraud, but said most locations are owned and operated independently and are not required to report these types of problems.
