Google Cloud rolls out Secure Data Warehouse Blueprint

Google Cloud has enhanced efforts to provide its users with guidance on cloud data security with the release of its new Secure Data Warehouse Blueprint, SiliconANGLE reports. The Secure Data Warehouse Blueprint offers expert opinions and best practices for customers to implement to preserve the security of their data while in use, in transit or in storage inside cloud data warehouses. The blueprint employs a layered approach to cybersecurity, according to Andy Chang, senior security product manager at Google, and Security & Compliance Customer Engineer Erlander Lo, enabling administrators to minimize their managed infrastructure as well as potential attack surfaces, as well as use infrastructure as code methods for evaluating their security controls. The layers include the landing area layer, which involves ingestion of batch or streaming data; the data warehouse layer, where data is stored and de-identified; the classification and data governance layer, which manages data classification taxonomy and encryption; and the security posture layer that helps with monitoring, detection and response.
